Welcome to Strength & Conditioning Solutions!
We are an organization dedicated to introducing and teaching sport specific training techniques. We offer sport specific training seminars throughout the year in hopes that we will be able to get more people involved in the various sports. Our goal is to educate the public about how to safely train and succeed in any sport they choose to be involved in.
The next seminar we will be conducting is on the sport of Competitive Powerlifting. This is not the Olympic lifts many of you think of when you hear "Powerlifting." The lifts consist of Bench Press, Deadlift and Squats. Anyone can learn how to powerlift. The youngest age allowed in competitions is 11 yrs. The oldest is unlimited (there are many 60 some year olds)!
Powerlifting is safe for children to get involved with. I highly recommend you seek professional training for your child if this is something they want to get involved with (that would be this seminar).
If you are a women and you're thinking to yourself as you read this, "there is no way I can do that!" Think again! Powerlifting for women over 30 has great benefits. It can really improve your bone density as well as build you self confidence and self esteem. The strongest women in the sport are in their mid to late 40's and early 50's. And many of them did not begin Powerlifting until after they were 40! Our bodies are amazing and can do incredible things when we ask them to.
Objective for Powerlifting Seminar:
Introduce and teach the sport of competitive Powerlifting to individuals. Prepare and guide those individuals through a Powerlifting event from start to finish. You do not need to have any prior weight lifting experience to participate in this seminar. New lifters are welcome!
When you register, you will attend the main seminar on a specified date. During this time, you will learn about all the competitive lifts as well as demonstrate proper form and technique. This will be a lifting seminar, so come prepared to lift weights!
You will be given a detailed workout to follow for six weeks and information on proper nutrition for maximizing your training efforts. You will receive a team t-shirt and workout log to keep track of your workouts.
At the end of six weeks you will actually compete in a real sanctioned Powerlifting meet. Some of meets are outside the city of Spokane.
Over the next six weeks you will have email contact/support with your coach, Danna Snow. At a specified date, you will meet at a designated location again to establish your one rep max (this will mean more to you at the seminar). Then we will meet again at the lifting venue on competition date to weigh in. This is an all day event so come prepared to lift and cheer on your fellow competitors.
You can register online or call Danna. Cost is $30.
